Cold Hands, Warm Heart

This is a Tando Creative Tag I have created by painting half with blue and half with red DecoArt Media Paint after initially covering with white gesso.  Then I covered with DecoArt crackle paint, and allowed to dry naturally.  I used washes of the red and blue to tone down the tag and also stamped script in random places in Stazon in bergundy and cobalt blue. This I knocked back with white DecoArt media paint .  For the “COLD” and “WARM” phrases, I used Tim Holtz Halloween stencil and picked out the individual letters by using a small stencil brush and the Stazon  (colours as above).  I made a silicone mold of a 3d skeleton hand decoration and used air dry clay to make the boney hand . Outside the Undertakers

This was a canvas that I recently made and I have decided to call it "Outside the Undertakers".  Some people have asked me how I created this, unfortunately I did not take pictures of the process as I didn't think others would be interested ! Firstly I used 'Structure Paste' from Imagination Crafts - I love this product because it dries within 15 minutes. I spread this through a brick stencil in random areas, including the sides of the canvas.  Then I used Deco Art Light Buttermilk Acrylic Paint as a base all over and then built up the brick work colour using Deco Art Media Fluid Acrylics (DAMF) in Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, Paynes Grey. The Coffin was cut out of greyboard using Tim Holtz (TH) Coffin as a template - I decided to make my own after deciding that Tim's was too deep for my project. I ran the sections through the TH Wood grain embossing folder then painted with DAMF Carbon black and brushed over with Burnt Sienna to bring out the ridges.
